The African-American Rite of Passage, Inc. v. Curators of University of
Missouri, No. 014-00016, Div. 2, Circ. ct. of City of St. Louis.
University's revocation of character to operate a public school reversed.
Candice H. v. Jenkins, No. 94-CH-72, Circuit Court of St. Clair
County, Illinois. Class action against East St. Louis Sch. Dist.
#189; consent order entered providing compensatory education to class
members and requiring a free appropriate public education to all special
education students within school district, including those suspended or
expelled.
Judith B. v. Alton Comm. U. Sch.. Dist. No. 11, No. 83-5254
(S.D. Ill.). Class action obtaining public school special education
services for severely handicapped students who resided at residential
facility and whose parents resided out-of-state; preliminary injunctions
obtained in both state and federal court; case voluntarily dismissed
pursuant to settlement agreement where school district and State Board of
Education agreed to continue to educate class members, to provide extended
school year services.
Wort v. Vierling, 778 F. 2d 123 (7th Cir. 1985). Title IX
case obtaining order requiring reinstatement of unmarried pregnant student
to high school National Honor Society; defendant's appeal of attorney fee
award dismissed.

units of senior citizens public housing; HUD settlement which includes
agreement for complete retrofit and payment of $72,000 in damages,
attorney's fees and costs.
Oxford House, et al., v. City of Granite City, Illinois,
No. 01-381-MJR (S.D. Ill. 2001) Summary judgment entered against city for
intentional discrimination against recovering alcoholics and drug addicts
who resided in Oxford House recovery homes; damages and attorney's fees
claims settled for
$267, 500.00.
F.H. v. City of Creve Coeur, Missouri, Nos. 4:96CV00807,
4:96CV01106 (E.D. Mo.). Fair Housing case with U.S. Dept. of Justice
where permanent injunction and $192,000 judgment entered against City for
discrimination against group home for persons with Alzheimer's disease;
damages and attorney fee claims settled on appeal for $250,000.00
